I wanted to do a ‘what’s in my bag’ post because these posts and videos really take me back. I used to love reading and watching eagerly awaiting the contents of other people’s bags when I first became a follower of bloggers and Youtubers all those years ago. I never fully understood it, I still don’t, but I love it.
Humans are weird and at the end of the day I think we’re all just super nosey. I know that my life won’t change by knowing what certain people can’t leave the house without, but it’s somewhat satisfying to have an insight into someone else’s life.
For years I used to lug around giant handbags, but I realised (and I know I am not alone here), that having a bigger bag just leads to me chucking in more and more crap that I’ll never need. For years now, I’ve tried to stick to a smaller bag and minimise the bits and pieces I take around with me.
During the summer I tend to gravitate towards a backpack. I find that with summer dresses or vests, having a cross body bag is just a bit annoying. I much prefer to pop on a backpack, have your hands free and your good to go. I generally find that I’m more likely to be outdoors in the summer; at festivals, pubs, walks etc, where you actually do need to have your hands free. I feel like in the winter when your bundled under 4 jumpers and a teddy coat, having a backpack doesn’t work as well and a cross body is more accessible when you don’t have much upper body movement (I’m a cold person if you couldn’t tell haha).
My all time favourite broke at V Festival last year so its day was done, and I recently wanted to pick up an alternative whilst I find my new perfect backpack for summer – however my cheap alternative might be the one as so far I am absolutely loving it.
My purse is probably one of my favourite things I own. I’ve had it for a good ten years and given that a purse or wallet is something that you use every single day, it has lasted so so well. I know that Louis Vuitton is an expensive brand, but having this purse has confirmed to me that investing is so worth the cost. In ten years I’ve never needed another purse and I’ve earned back every penny cost with the use I have gained. If you want to invest in a designer good but aren’t really sure where to begin or what to chose, I would highly recommend starting with a purse – you won’t be sorry 🙂
I’m a sunglasses addict. I love trying different brands and styles and tend to find that sunglasses are a pretty safe way to experiment with your look without having to reinvent your wardrobe. At the moment I’ve been wearing my Ray Bans to death so these are the ones that I have with me in my bag at the moment and probably will be for the foreseeable future. I always fall back on these as they are classic and simple and you can’t really go wrong with them. Mine are the Ray Ban Rb3447 round metal gold frame with green tinted lenses and a brown leather case – seriously I love these.
You won’t find me without at least four lip products upon my person. Whenever I wear a new colour it gets chucked into my bag and gets added to my bag collection. I always have a lip balm, usually Carmex, Blistex or Palmers as these are the most nourishing and moisturising and perfect to have to hand and in terms of lipstick, I wear Mac’s Mehr on an almost daily basis, as well as Hot Gossip and Velvet Teddy.
I’m not only a really difficult person to find food for, but I’m also a very hungry person. I bring food with me everywhere because the prospect of even walking down to my car without a snack makes me feel hungry! Usually you’ll find some sort of protein ball/free from snack combination in my bag.
