5 Hero Products I Can’t Live Without This Spring

Everyone has those few products that you just can’t live without. For some it’s makeup, for me it’s skincare. I’m really fussy about what I use and if a product has made it to my permanent collection you know it’s a good’un.

These products aren’t necessarily the most exciting products in my collection, but they’re the ones that I just cannot live without. If I’m running low, I’m repurchasing and if I have to recommend any products that I know will stand the test of time, these are the products I would choose! You’ll have probably heard me talk about each of these products before because they’re my cult favourites.

Clinique Liquid Facial Soap

Clinique Liquid Facial Soap

I think it’s been about 10 years that I’ve been using this face wash now. Because I love skincare and beauty I still try different cleansers and face washes to see what’s out there and whether I can find something to top this and honestly, I can’t. I’ve found a few that I like and would use in rotation with my Clinique Liquid Facial Soap, but I wouldn’t ditch it for anything!

I don’t even want to think about how many bottles of this I’ve gotten through in recent years, but it’s the perfect formulation for me. I don’t like a face wash to be too creamy or oily as my skin can become clogged very quickly. I also like to have that super fresh washed feeling and like everything’s off my face and it’s stripped bare as opposed to feeling like there’s more product on there which I have with some other products.

The consistency is a gel which is easy to use with either my fingers or with my Foreo, which is what I use pretty much everyday. There are a few different variations of this product so if you have acne prone skin, or you want something a little more moisturising, there’s a milder and an oil control formulation.

La Roche Posey Effaclar Duo

Effaclar duo has been an essential product for me for about 3 years now. I love the serum as a primer under make up and as a treatment under my moisturiser. I use this during the day as I tend to use heavier treatments and oils at night and this is much better for wearing during the day. It makes me skin feel smooth and comfortable and is a nice consistency for a lighter skincare routine.

Since using this I’ve noticed my skin is clearer and that the texture is smoother. I don’t get breakouts as often as before and I find that when I do, ensuring I’m using my Effaclar Duo regularly is enough to speed the recovery of my skin. This is the best daytime skin treatment I’ve used, possibly ever, so I suggest you add it to your next Feel Unique order!

No7 Advanced Protect and Perfect

This is a new product to my core collection. I tried using No7 Advanced Protect and Perfect about 6 years ago when I was writing a different blog with my friend and we both agreed that we noticed a difference after using it and that we were super impressed. I’m not really sure why I didn’t keep up with No7 as I love it, it’s just not something that was always in my bathroom cupboard.

I’ve been using it again since Christmas and I’m soooo glad I did as straight away I remembered why I loved it in the first place. No7 is a really underrated brand in my mind as it’s affordable, easily accessible and does everything it claims to do. The ingredients are potent and what I’d be looking for in other products and the packaging is sleek.

I like that it’s a serum because it’s easier to work with than an oil when you want to get specific about where you’re using it. This make it easy for my key areas which are the crows feet on my eyes, the lines between my brows and the skin on the front of my neck. I’ve been using it both night and morning as it sits nicely under makeup and leaves my skin soft and smooth. If you haven’t tried this particular serum yet I really rate it.

Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Oil

My favourite oil of all time. I just love Luna Sleeping Oil and always have one coming in the post the second I notice I’m running low. I’ve used this product for years and tend to try and rotate it around to make it last a little longer, however most nights I find myself reaching for this. I love the packaging, the colour, the texture, the smell and the results.

It’s such a great product that keeps my skin moisturised and although I don’t know if it’s specifically responsible for better skin texture and less breakouts, but I’m sure it’s got a big part to play. The experience of using it and the way my skin feels is enough to keep me hooked and repurchasing over and over. I absolutely love it and you absolutely have to try it!

The Ordinary Natural Moisturising Factors

This is a super cheap moisturiser because it’s from The Ordinary, the brand who saves money on the packaging (which I still think is one of my favourite brands packaging-wise), in order to make the potent products affordable. I don’t need to mention again how much I rate The Ordinary as I have pretty much every single one of their products on the go at all times. Despite being super affordable it’s one of the best moisturisers I’ve ever used and I repurchase it as often as I can because it’s become pretty hard to get a hold of! The larger tube is ideal as it lasts so long so if you get the chance to snap one up – do it!

It works great as an everyday moisturiser but is also perfect as a nighttime moisture mask layered on thick and left to soak in. It’s got no scent and is really nourishing so if you have problem or sensitive skin, it will be safe to use. The best thing is it contains hyaluronic acid so you know it’s going to be even more moisturising than its competitors and that you don’t need to use a hyaluronic acid before saving money buying both.
