Cross body bags are one of my favourite styles of bag. I’m all about having my hands free and not having to worry about whether I’ve left my bag somewhere, or having to faff about trying to balance everything in my arms trying to rummage for my phone or purse.
With a cross body everything is right where you need it and most of the time they’re deceivingly bigger inside than they first appear! If I’m feeling extra or want to dress my look up a little I like to tuck in the handles to create a clutch bag, super versatile right? But I tend to prefer to stick to the super convenient ‘chuck it over your shoulder and forget about it’ vibe.
I have a couple of expensive bags which are long-term staples and investments in my wardrobe, therefore when it comes to trend pieces or more inexpensive items I like to go for something mid-range. I don’t like to go very cheap and end up with something I’ll never use, even when I’m spending less I want to have good quality and something that will last.
I like to shop on ASOS for this type of style piece as they offer so many brands and lots of different price points, meaning it’s literally impossible not to find something you’ll love. At the moment I’m loving & Other Stories bags and accessories and find them to be a great mid-price point between high street and designer. The quality is certainly there and they have very classic pieces that you know won’t fly in and out of style.
Because a cross body can be worn so easily over coats and jackets, I tend to gravitate towards black so that it goes with all my pieces and fits with an autumnal and winter palette. That being said, I do have my eye on a few colourful bags lately and might have to dip my toe into a more colourful choice for spring and summer!
