Favourite Face Masks

Favourite Face Masks

Ok so I have to address probably one of my most favourite beauty productsface masks!

There are so many out there and I have dabbled in most, but there are two that are my ultimate favs, and do completely different jobs so are great to use together.

The first, of course, is the infamous Mask of Magnaminty from Lush. This really is the ultimate mask for keeping your pores clear. I remember the very first time I used it, and it was love at first use!

I apply this mask probably once a week, and when I do, it is at the end of the day when my skin is feeling tired and in need of a lift. I remove all my make-up, and then I smooth a nice big handful all over my face. I like to ensure my t-zone is fully covered, and am less worried about my cheeks as I don’t tend to get as many breakouts in those areas.

The peppermint oil is amazing, you can really feel it tingling over your skin as the mask dries. I usually leave it on for around 10-15 minutes as I love the sensation.

This mask draws out any blockages from your pores, and because it dries on your face, when you rinse it off it becomes quite a rough exfoliator, which really clarifies and renews the surface of the skin.

The only downside of this mask is that it is not the best in terms of ease of removal! It does take a good hard scrub, and it does make a mess if you are doing it over the sink. If I can, I try and time it so that I can wash it off in the shower, as this is the least messy way to do it.

If I do have to do it over the sink (which to be honest is what I do most days), I take a flannel with me so I can scrub off any hard to remove places such as around my hairline, and around my nose.

I can see an instant difference once the mask has been removed. My skin looks fresh and clean, and feels amazing. I do tend to find that the following morning I have a few small blemishes that appear as a result of the drawing out action of the mask, however I actually really don’t mind this.

They are usually tiny and disappear very quickly and I like the thought that these have surfaced at this stage, rather than being stuck under the skin for a long time.

I apply my normal moisturiser and then move onto the next magical mask.

The second mask I use which I LOVE and cannot live without is the GlamGlow ThirstyMud Mask.

This mask is so luxurious, the smell is fresh and coconutty, and the consistency is soft and silky. I use a good amount of this mask and massage onto my face until it is applied thickly and evenly. This mask also has a tingle sensation to it which personally, I enjoy. I can really feel it getting to work.

The ThirstyMud Mask is designed to moisturise tired and dry skin which is something I definitely need. My skin is very dry, and I have to use a lot of moisturiser to keep it happy. ThirstyMud contains Hyaluronic Acid which is key in ensuring that your skin absorbs and retains all the moisture it can.

This mask literally transforms my face, and keeps dry patches away, even during the cold winter months which usually cause havoc with drying out my skin.

The following morning my skin looks and feels soft, cleansed, moisturised and lovely! Sometimes I use these masks separately, if I am in a rush, or just need to focus on one particular problem, but mostly I try to use them together.

If you are like me and want to stay on top of your blemishes, and like a good exfoliation, I really do recommend the Mask of Magnaminty – give it a try and let us know what you think!

For those of you with problematic skin during the cold months, or just dry skin in general, you need this mask in your life!
