The Loungewear Edit

Fashion Blogger Loungewear

Seeing as were all locked in doing everything from home… again it’s about time we all got a little more comfy! For the second time this year we don’t need to get dressed and get out and for most of you, you’re working from home and not in need of office attire.

As much as we all love a little more time at home and most mornings would give anything for an extra few minutes in bed to avoid the morning commute, this isn’t exactly fun circumstances and being at home right now is more uncertain and unnerving than exciting. That being said, it’s a great opportunity to embrace not having to keep up with the daily rush and to be able to be more flexible with our routines, especially when it comes to getting dressed.

Loungewear has completely taken off over the last few months and everyone is looking for comfy clothes for chilling at home and for attending those oh so wonderful Zoom meetings! I work from home anyway and pre-corona would still get fully dressed and made up, but now I’m bare faced in gym-wear or loungewear 100% of the time.

Some of my favourite places to buy loungewear is H&M, Topshop, Nasty Gal, New Look and Zara. I love to shop on H&M for their pyjama sets because mostly they look like comfy outfits that I would and do wear out and about. I like to wear loungewear that I can throw a coat on top of a go out if I need to because who wants to get changed and put together whole outfit just to pop to the shops to stock on toilet roll (totally joking I promise)! But yeah, I don’t want outfit changes for errands. H&M is always super classy anyway so you can definitely get away with sitting on a Zoom call and your boss not knowing that you didn’t actually get dressed into proper clothes today. Win!

Topshop obviously have amazing trend pieces as well as classic loungewear. I mainly wear hoodies and jogging bottoms from Topshop and more recently have started to pair Topshop jogging bottoms with their soft bras when the weather is warm but you still want to be super comfy and casual around the house.

Nasty Gal isn’t somewhere I shop a lot from generally, but I do like to make an order every now and then because as long as you shop carefully, you can get some really nice bits from there. Since lockdown I’ve ordered a few loungewear pieces from Nasty Gal and was really pleasantly surprised. Some of the pieces are on par with more expensive brands and other pieces aren’t the best, but I don’t overly mind this when it’s just going to be worn in the comfort of my own home and is just a nice change to wearing the same things on rotation day in, day out.

Here are a few of the loungewear pieces I’ve been loving at the moment. Note the slogan jumper… how we’re all feeling right now! Enjoy!
