Buying homeware is one of my favourite things to do. I love decorating and dressing my house for every season and investing in beautiful pieces that will last forever. After spending the last year or so gradually decorating and renovating certain areas of my house, I’ve been loving buying cute items, especially art and plant pots to fill my shelves and corners of each room. Over the years I’ve lived in a number of different places and have changed my style a few times, however I feel like I’ve learnt what I like and what I don’t like in terms of decor and homeware.
In my current house each room is decorated differently and I had a clear vision in my mind of what I wanted before starting to decorate. The overall vision can be quite easy to come up with, but finding the right individual pieces is actually a lot harder than it seems. I like to shop online so I can browse and keep tabs open with things I love so I can have a look at everything together and imagine how it will work in my space and how each item will work together.
Something which I have learnt over time is that I hate clutter but I’m more than happy to have my walls completely covered in art and have so many plants and flowers that I’m essentially living in a jungle. This kind of clutter is what I live for and it makes me feel cosy and homely.
Etsy is one of those places where you can find literally anything you’re looking for and is the place I go for presents and gifts for others. Each piece is lovingly created by small businesses and creatives I feel that more care and attention has gone into the creation and you can find pieces which are far more unique than buying gifts, particularly homeware pieces on the high street.
With Christmas just around the corner, now is a great time to add all the things you know your friends and family will want to open on Christmas day to your basket.
