Here’s what I read (and mostly listened to) this year.
Indistractable by Nir Eyal
I wanted to start the year with some non-fiction to get me motivated. This book is all about how to stay focused in a world full of distractions and how to reclaim your time and attention. It’s a really practical read that made me think more about how I use my phone and how much time I waste scrolling – send help because I’m not sure things are going to change anytime soon!
Speak Your Truth by Fearne Cotton
I loveee Fearne. She has such a calm, grounding energy and this book is all about finding your voice and living authentically. It’s honest and comforting, and it really made me reflect on how I communicate and stay true to myself.
Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens
I wanted to see what all the hype was about with this book. I really liked it – it reminded me of reading books at school where you’d analyse all the hidden meanings and foreshadowing as it’s not a completely easy read.
The Midnight Library by Matt Haig
I loved this book. It made me feel weirdly nostalgic and gave me all the feels. It’s about choices, regrets, and the paths we could’ve taken, and it’s written in such a hopeful, emotional way. Definitely one that sticks with you, and if you’re like me and suffer with constant unnecessary grief and nostalgia, it could be one for you!
You Have a Match by Emma Lord
After a few heavier reads, I wanted something lighter and more fun. This was such a cute story, perfect for when you just want an easy read that still has a bit of depth.
Tweet Cute by Emma Lord
Another light one from Emma Lord. It’s cute, modern, and full of charm.
Beach Read by Emily Henry
I think everyone was reading this one last year. It’s clever, romantic, and witty – the perfect escapist read when you just need a mood boost.
The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman
Toby loved this book and recommended it to me, so I decided to give it a go. I actually read this one alongside listening to it on Audible because I didn’t have the time to keep picking up the book. It’s such a fun mix of humour, mystery, and heart. I can see why so many people love it.
Working Hard, Hardly Working by Grace Beverley
I’ve followed Grace for years and really admire everything she’s built, so I had to listen to this one. It’s a mix of career advice, productivity, and self-awareness, and it gave me a lot to think about in terms of work-life balance.
The Secret by Rhonda Byrne
I’ve always loved all things manifestation, so I thought I’d better read the original book that started it all. It’s definitely a classic and a good reminder of how powerful our mindset can be.
The Secret to Health by Rhonda Byrne
My health is an ongoing journey, so this one really appealed to me. It’s focused on how your thoughts and emotions can influence your physical wellbeing, and it was inspiring to listen to when I wanted a bit of positivity.
The Greatest Secret by Rhonda Byrne
This one goes even deeper into mindset and awareness. It’s about letting go of negativity and focusing on inner peace something I think we could all use more of.
