We stayed at Petit Palais during our honeymoon this summer, and honestly, it was the dreamiest way to finish our trip to Nice before the long journey to Paris.
We arrived in our honeymoon Tesla (complete with rose petals, drinks and sweets in the back, which made me laugh), and from the moment we pulled up, it felt like we’d found a garden oasis away from the touristy busyness in the town.

A Hidden Gem Above the City
Petit Palais is tucked away in a quiet part of Nice, up a hill and away the busy centre. It’s one of those places that immediately feels peaceful the moment you step through the doors. The gardens are lush and green, and everything about it feels relaxed and luxurious. It’s small, intimate and full of charm – exactly what we wanted for the final few days of our honeymoon.

Our Stay at Petit Palais
We had a garden room that opened out onto the greenery, and it couldn’t have been more perfect, especially for laying uno in the evening as we did most evenings during our time in the south of France.
The decor was elegant but cosy, with cute little details like a little minibar, beautiful toiletries in the bathroom, and stunning design. Most of our day was spent lying by the pool, which was small but just perfect for what we wanted, as we just wanted to be secluded and peaceful. Most trips we take are busy and packed with sightseeing or located in city centres, which we both love, but for once we just wanted to soak in the sun and sea air doing absolutely nothing.
The sun moved across the pool throughout the day, so we just followed it from one side to the other, sipping drinks, eating watermelon and just reading and chatting while dipping in and out of the pool because the weather was unbelievably hot.
The staff were so lovely too. Everyone was warm, welcoming and happy to help with anything. It felt personal and calm, like a true little oasis – and we even got a few compliments and lots of congratulations.

Final Thoughts
Petit Palais really was heaven – it’s the only way I can describe it. It’s beautiful.
It feels completely removed from the busy streets below, even though you’re only a short walk from the centre of Nice. The rooms are stunning, the atmosphere is so relaxed, and the whole experience just felt special. If you’re heading to Nice and want somewhere to unwind and relax, but have the option of going into the centre and enjoying both sides, I can’t recommend it enough.
We left feeling completely refreshed – and already talking about when we can go back.
