Here’s everything I read in 2023, along with a few thoughts on each.

Spare by Prince Harry

I wanted to see what all the hype was about, and it definitely gave a lot of insight. It’s interesting and emotional, and I did enjoy it, but I also found it a bit strange after such a big statement about stepping out of the public eye. Some parts were always going to cause a reaction, but it’s an honest look at his life and I’m glad I read it.

Atomic Habits by James Clear

There wasn’t anything particularly new to me, but it’s practical, motivating and makes you think about the power of small, consistent changes.

Breathe by James Nestor

Everyone keeps telling me to focus on my breath – yoga teachers, astrologers, tarot readers, even my acupuncturist. So, I thought I’d better learn about it properly. This book opened my eyes to how powerful breathing is and how much it can affect your health and energy, whether I’ll finally be able to incorporate breathe work into my day-to-day life is yet to be seen haha!

The New Fashion Rules by Victoria Magrath

I’ve followed Victoria for years, so after qualifying as a stylist myself, I really wanted to read her take on fashion. It’s a great mix of personal experience and commentary on how social media and influencer culture have reshaped the fashion world. I loved hearing her perspective as someone who’s lived it, and someone who I admire.

Genius Foods by Max Lugavere

I’m always interested in how food impacts mood, focus, and overall health, so this book was right up my street. It’s got a lot of information about how certain foods can make you think and feel better.

Fast Like a Girl by Dr. Mindy Pelz

This one’s all about fasting in a way that works for women and our hormonal cycles. It made so much sense and helped me understand why fasting affects women differently. It’s perfect if you’re into wellness and want to learn how to work with your body, not against it.

The Woman in Me by Britney Spears

As a 90s kid, I had to read Britney’s book. I grew up obsessed with her, and hearing her story in her own words was emotional and eye-opening. It’s honest, raw, and at times heartbreaking, but it’s so empowering to see her take back her voice.

Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing by Matthew Perry

After Matthew Perry’s passing, I wanted to read his book and learn more about him beyond Chandler. It’s funny, moving, and brutally honest about his struggles. His humour still shines through, and it gave me a whole new appreciation for him. It was also emotional reading it hearing his pain and struggles knowing how it’s all going to end and that was actually really sad.

Paris by Paris Hilton

I’ve seen her documentaries but reading her story in her own words gave me a new perspective. It’s open, unexpected, and showed a completely different side of her. She’s so much more self-aware and grounded than people realise.

Asking for a Friend by Andi Osho

I wanted to love this one, but I couldn’t quite get into it. It’s light and fun, but it didn’t grab me the way I hoped it would. Maybe I wasn’t in the right mood for it, but I found myself forcing it rather than being excited.

Big Money Energy by Ryan Serhant

I’m a big fan of Ryan Serhant and this book definitely gives a dose of motivation he’s known for. It’s full of confidence-boosting advice about going after what you want and building success from the ground up.

It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover

I was so unbelievably obsessed with this book. I literally couldn’t put it down and was glued to the pages. It’s emotional, powerful, and beautifully written. I completely understand the Colleen Hoover obsession now because this story took over my brain for days.

It Starts With Us by Colleen Hoover

After It Ends With Us, I was desperate for more, so I was really excited to get a few more chapters with this sequel. It was the perfect continuation, and I loved seeing where the characters went next. It felt like a nice way to round it all off and let us know what happened after the end of the first book.

Verity by Colleen Hoover

My Colleen Hoover obsession properly started after It Ends With Us, and Verity just added fuel to the fire. I loved how dark and twisted it was compared to what I’d heard about her other books. There were moments that made me literally gasp. It’s creepy, clever, and addictive, and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for something easy to read, but with a bit of grit and thriller vibes.

Seven Summers by Paige Toon

I really enjoyed this one – it was such a lovely story with beautiful writing that kept me hooked all the way through. The only thing I didn’t love was how rushed the ending felt. The rest of the book had a really good pace, and it just suddenly felt like she needed to get 500 pages down to 10 and so much happened all of a sudden which kind if ruined the end for me, but I did still love it.
