Here’s a look at what I read and what I thought of each book.

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck – Mark Manson

I’ve seen this book everywhere and wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I really enjoyed it. Mark Manson has a way of keeping it real and giving advice that actually feels practical and easy to relate to.

The 4-Hour Work Week – Tim Ferriss

I think I got caught up in the hype of this one. It was interesting, but honestly a lot of the points felt pretty obvious to me and nothing particularly ground-breaking. Still, it’s an easy read and has some good takeaways if you’re looking to rethink your work life.

12 Rules for Life – Jordan Peterson

Another highly recommended book that I felt like I needed to read. I really liked it. Jordan Peterson’s style is unique, and I took away a lot of ideas to think about in my own life.

Wile Like Me – Louise Pentland

I follow Louise and wanted to read her book, so I could get a little change of pace and enjoy some fiction. It was a really easy, fun read and exactly what I needed to switch off for a bit.

Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine – Gail Honeyman

I absolutely loved this book. The characters and storyline grabbed me straight away, and I looked forward to getting into bed each night just to read. I was so sad when it ended and have even bought it for a few friends because it’s that good. Definitely one of the best books I’ve read in a long time.

Wilde About the Girl – Louise Pentland

I picked up the second book from Louise and loved it too. It was a fun follow-up and kept me invested in the characters.

Girl Online, Going Solo, On Tour – Zoe Sugg

I went through a bit of a Zoe Sugg phase and read all the Girl Online books back to back. I really enjoy YA books because they’re easy to read and there’s something nostalgic about getting lost in a teenage story. I loved that these were set in Brighton because it made the world in the books feel really familiar and easy to picture.

The Fifth Season – N.K. Jemisin

This was a bit different from what I usually read, but someone recommended it and I’m so glad I tried it. The world, the writing style, and the storyline were completely new to me. I found it challenging at times to transport my mind into a completely different world, but I did enjoy the challenge. I want to try more books like this and maybe even re-read it because it was so unique to me.

The Power of Now – Eckhart Tolle

I have to admit I got a bit bored with this one. I think I might need to read it again at another time to really get into it, but I do find myself doing this when books are particularly hyped, so it could have been that for me.

This is Going to Hurt – Adam Kay

A friend recommended this and I had so much fun reading it. It’s funny, engaging, and a really quick read that kept me hooked.
