The Baker Boy

The Baker Boy

Baker boy hats are a trend I can safely say I’ve been in love with since I was a child. I remember seeing Britney Spears wearing a baker boy around 2000 and I was obsessed from there on. I had such a great collection which somewhere down the line got lost in my parents loft or sadly bagged up to go to a charity shop (I’m not over it – can you tell??)! I still have all my fingers crossed that one day I’ll get a message from my mum to say she’s found them and we’ll be reunited!

I had the most gorgeous pale pink crushed velvet, a deep green corduroy and a pleather black number. I’m genuinely envious of my 12 year old self and the hat collection I wish I had now! I of course, I have a couple of baker boy hats in my wardrobe currently and I’m confident this will continue to grow as I just absolutely love them.

They add a classic and cool look to literally any outfit. Whether you’re full on glam, or donning baggy jeans and a t-shirt, there’s no outfit a baker boy won’t go with. If you’re looking to expand your collection I’ve seen some amazing styles and fabrics online recently which I’ve linked below, but if you’re yet to dive into the baker boy trend I suggest you start with a plain black style to get a hang on how you want to wear it to fit in your style.

My favourite way to wear a baker boy is with jeans and a t-shirt in spring, with a jumper dress and boots in autumn and layered with a chunky coat and scarf in winter. They’re definitely worth investing in as you can wear it throughout the year and they will always be in style.
