Halloween has always been one of my favourite times of year. I love everything about it; the cosy nights in, the candles flickering, and the excuse to watch something spooky. I don’t always go full horror, but I do love a good balance between scary, nostalgic, and just plain atmospheric. Movie nights are the perfect way to spend the darker evenings and get into the Halloween spirit, especially when you’ve got a blanket, some popcorn, and maybe even a pumpkin-scented candle burning away.
Hocus Pocus
An absolute classic and one I’ve watched since I was about seven. It never gets old and instantly gives me that nostalgic, magical Halloween feeling. It’s funny, a bit spooky, and just the perfect cosy watch for this time of year.

Stranger Things
This is one of those series I always come back to around October. It’s not exactly horror, but it’s packed with spooky, supernatural vibes that make it perfect for the season. The soundtrack, the small-town atmosphere, and the characters just give it that nostalgic edge that fits so well with autumn evenings.

The Haunting of Hill House
If you want something genuinely tense and chilling, this one’s amazing. I loved it. It’s full of jumpy moments but also has such an emotional storyline. It’s the kind of series that sticks with you and makes you want to talk about it with someone as soon as you’ve finished watching.

The Conjuring Movies
I’ve seen all of them and I think they’re some of the best horror films out there. They’ve got great storylines, which I find is where a lot of scary movies fall short. They’re creepy, suspenseful, and perfect for a proper scary movie night.

IT
It just wouldn’t be Halloween without IT. It’s such a cult classic at this point and always gives me that nostalgic horror movie feeling. It’s creepy without being too much, and it’s one of those films you can rewatch every year and still enjoy.
I love a cosy movie night, but I also love a scary one too. There’s something about wrapping up warm, lighting the candles, and getting a bit of a fright that just feels so right at this time of year. Whether you’re watching something fun like Hocus Pocus or something properly spooky like The Conjuring, it’s the perfect way to make the most of autumn evenings.
