Face Coverings

Who predicted that in 2020 we’d be reading blog posts about face masks and face coverings? I certainly didn’t and writing a post on the subject is not something I’ve ever thought about before! But alas, here we are living in very strange times and putting new practices in place in all of our everyday lives.

As much as face coverings are horrible to wear, uncomfortable, sweaty, itchy, rubs all your lipstick off… the list goes on, they are here for a purpose and are saving lives so embracing face masks is what we’ll do! It’s a very small price to pay to keep ourselves and others safe therefore I think we should all invest in a face mask that we love and want to wear to make sure that we are actually wearing them!

I was using disposable masks (but using them multiple times), which just gave me anxiety about the environment and where all these one use masks will end up after we toss them out. At the very start of the pandemic re-usable face coverings weren’t all that and most didn’t even fit my tiny face, but now face coverings are here to stay and this is a more permanent measure, a lot of stores have cottoned on to this and now you can pretty much buy a face covering from any store both online and on the high street.

I have a couple of masks so that I can alternate if I need to chuck one in the wash, but now we know they are here to stay for a while I’ve tried to invest in a few that will fit into my wardrobe so my mask isn’t always sticking out like a sore thumb!

My favourite masks are the ones that fit tight to your face with no sagging or baggyness and especially silk masks as these are super lightweight, soft and not irritating to your skin.

Here are a few of the face coverings that have caught my eye.
