Fedora hats are an essential for any girls wardrobe. They’re perfect for adding a little something extra to a simple outfit, taking your look up a notch when you’re unsure of how to elevate your style and a great way to add a chic vibe when you just want to wear a low bun and run some errands.
I love wearing fedora hats all year round, with a big coat in the winter and with a t-shirt and jeans in the summer. It’s the perfect accessory to change up your usual look and there’s something about a fedora which takes your style from plain and simple to classy and very put together.
I tend to grab my classic black fedora more often than any other, but I have a couple in my collection. I have a brown patterned fedora which is a little softer than all back and adds a neutral touch of colour to an all black outfit. This colour palette also works really well with deep autumnal colours such as khaki, burgundy, deep greens and neutrals which are my favourite colours to wear.
If you’re thinking of trying out a fedora for the first time I recommend black or brown to begin with as they’re the most versatile and then going from there. If you’re blonde or have a pale complexion a pale pink or mint green would be perfect, or if you have a brunette, more tanned complexion I would be reaching for a khaki or deep red.
A fedora is a fun way to play with style and the best thing is they’re a really affordable piece to try out. I like shopping on ASOS and in River Island for affordable options and I recommend this while you try and find the best fit for you. There are some amazing fedoras in All Saints which I would opt for once you know what colour and style is the best for you and then you can make more of an investment purchase.
