Gadgets and technology have crept into every part of our lives from work, to play and is now even helping us to meditate, de-stress and even fall asleep!
I love integrating technology with my beauty and lifestyle routines and see huge benefits when technology is used to enhance wellbeing rather than going against it.
There’s a few ways that I’ve been integrating technology into my routines to help me stay calm, relax and de-stress and I’ve chosen my top three recommended products that I’ve been using recently!
My quest for a good nights sleep and proper relaxation is an ongoing one! However, I’ve recently been using an eye mask with integrated speakers to help me fall asleep and so far I’m absolutely loving it!
This eye mask works just like other sleeping masks at blocking out unwanted light when trying to sleep, meditate or relax, but the difference is there’s speakers inside, which are completely flat so you can sleep on your side without being uncomfortable. I like to listen to rain sounds or ocean sounds before going to bed, but have either found that my partner complains when I have it coming from my phone, or that headphones or earphones are uncomfortable and restrict my sleeping position. Being able to turn onto my side and not be woken up or disturbed is amazing, and having one product to be used as a face mask and headphones is ideal, especially for travelling.
I’m really looking forward to using this mask on a plane as I think having the integrated headphones will help to block out the plane sound and create a calmer feeling for me.
The other thing I love about this mask is that when I feel stress or anxious, listening to something comforting or taking a breath sometimes isn’t immersive enough for me, as I get too into my head and I can’t fully remove myself mentally from a stressful situation. The eye mask is great in these situations because I can sit, or lie down and take a moment to completely centre myself. I don’t meditate on a regular basis, but when I do I will use this mask to help to shut out the outside world and focus on my breathing and the sounds I’ve chosen to listen to.
If you travel a lot or have trouble sleeping, definitely pop one of these masks into your Amazon basket and I assure you that you won’t regret it!
Neom Wellbeing Pod Essential Oil Diffuser
I’ve used essential oils for years, to help boost my mood and wake me up and of course, to de-stress and relax. I’ve had a few diffusers over time and have also used essential oils on my skin and in oil burners. I use a room diffuser everyday to set the tone and vibe of my bedroom before bed every night. I use the Neom Wellbeing Pod for my favourite essential oils about 2 – 3 hours before bed and I set the timer and light so that my bedroom smells calming and helps me to relax leading up to bedtime.
I struggle so much with getting to sleep, and staying asleep, so anything to help calm and relax me before bed is right up my ally! If you’re the same and need to invest a little more in rest and relaxation, a diffuser is a great place to start.
They’re perfect for every room in the house and because you can use whichever oils you like, you could choose to have one in your lounge or living room with an uplifting oil to create an uplifting atmosphere.
I don’t know about you but there’s nothing more relaxing and stress relieving to me than a foot massage. I’m never one to turn down a massage and absolutely love reflexology, however it’s not that easy to convince your partner to massage your feet on a daily basis, so instead I invested in a foot massager! This means that I can have a foot massage whenever I want, for as long as I want – you can’t really get much better than that!
The machine I chose was from Amazon and there’s a lot of different types of massage and brands of these so there’s something for all price points. I highly recommend trying one out if you love a massage, especially if you suffer from stress or struggle to relax give yourself some much needed me-time.
