One of my all time favourite cocktails is a Negroni. I know it’s not everyones favourite because it’s so bitter, but if bitter is for you, this Christmas twist on the classic Negroni is going to be your favourite drink this season.
I picked up a bottle of Edinburgh Gin’s Christmas Gin with flavours of frankincense and myrrh when I was Christmas shopping in John Lewis. I love using frankincense essential oils around my home and in my skincare so was really excited to try it in a cocktail. Edinburgh Gin have such a great variety of flavoured gins and gin liquors which I’ve loved for years now, so when I saw there was a combination of frankincense and myrrh I thought how much more christmassy can you get? The bottle and packaging is also stunning (as usual for Edinburgh Gin), so I was sold on the packaging alone.
My partner used to be a barman so he’s always on hand to curate amazing cocktails which is ideal for me and he was more than happy to give a festive Negroni a go. I’m not kidding when I say this was the best Negroni I’ve ever had and I cannot recommend this recipe enough!

Frankincense and Myrrh Edinburgh Gin 25ml (1 shot)
Vermouth 25ml (1 shot)
Campari 25ml (1 shot)
Put all ingredients in a mixing glass with a handful of ice and stir. Strain into a tumbler and add orange zest to garnish.
