Christmas Makeup

Christmas is the perfect excuse to go all out with absolutely everything. It’s a time to indulge in festive food, go all out with your style and get super glam with makeup.

I love a winter makeup look, with a smokey eye and a deep lip, and Christmas 100% calls for a bold red lip. Especially with the year we’ve had, there’s only been a handful of times where getting properly made up has been called for, so with being able to see people over the festive season whether that be online or in person, it’s glam time!

As Christmas approaches I’ve been incorporating a lot more red in my make up. Using a red shadow in my crease and blending this out creates a really subtle but festive change, especially with a sweep of red shimmer or glitter across the lid. This is my go-to makeup when it gets towards October and Halloween, but I start with a more orange toned red and by the time it gets to December I’m rocking the burnt reds and burgundy shades.

Ruby Woo is my go-to for a festive lip and has been for probably about 10 years now! I use the liner and lipstick and then go over the top with the Ruby Woo gloss for a defined super dramatic look.

Adding extra highlight is one of the easiest ways to level up any look, so I grab all the highlight I can and sweep away. I always put highlight on the top of my cheeks but for a festive look I go crazy. I’m highlighting everything; nose, cupids bow, cheeks, brows, collarbones, shoulders… do it all!
